Cardinal Health Canada Migrates to IBM’s WebSphere Commerce V9!
Cardinal Health Canada, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cardinal Health (ranked 15 on the Fortune 500), provides products and services to help hospitals, long-term care facilities, and alternative healthcare providers throughout Canada. Their online store, powered by IBM, represents a strong channel for sales.
Cardinal Health Canada partnered with BlueSky Technology Partners to successfully migrate the technology stack supporting their online store, shop.cardinalhealth.ca, to IBM’s upgraded WebSphere Commerce V9. This latest version release has a heavy focus on reducing operational costs while improving development flexibility and access to functional business applications. Cardinal Health Canada turned to longtime partner, BlueSky Technology Partners, to assist with understanding the new features of V9 as well as benefits to their organization. BlueSky has helped Cardinal Health Canada with previous migrations including their last migration from V6 to V8, as well as provides ongoing production support.
With this migration, the BlueSky and Cardinal teams implemented and configured a new Docker infrastructure that is hosted on Amazon Web Services. In addition, the teams developed deployment tooling and processes to continuous integration and delivery pipeline.
Let us know if you need help in supporting a version upgrade or in determining your next step with IBM WebSphere Commerce.
