Magento to Expand Commerce Cloud Pro Capacity for Holiday Season
Exciting news for users of Magento’s Commerce Cloud Pro level of services.
Magento wants to make it easier for businesses looking to close sales and help fill their customers’ stockings this holiday season! From November 15 – December 5, 2019 and December 20, 2019 – January 5, 2020, all Magento Commerce Cloud Pro customers will have their cloud capacity automatically upsized to the next environment size, which will provide at least double the CPU and memory. This will undoubtedly be a welcomed increase during the busiest shopping season of the year. Magento states that no action will be required by you or your team to take advantage of this increased capability, and there is no impact on Magento Commerce customers’ licensed overage capacity. This is certainly something that a lot of businesses can check off their holiday readiness checklist.
As a part of the announcement, Magento has offered the following additional information to customers that use the Commerce Cloud Starter license:
Commerce Cloud Starter customers that anticipate a need for additional capacity during the holiday season will need to follow the steps outlined at their Holiday Readiness Knowledge Base article by November 8, 2019. Support for additional capacity for Cloud Starter customers will incur capacity overages as defined in the merchant’s license.
This is incredible news for those businesses that worry about site crashes and other high-traffic issues that could ultimately cost you the sale during the busiest and most crucial time of the year. While keeping these dates in mind, it’s also important to keep in mind your expected traffic during the gap between the server capacity increases – December 5 – December 20, 2019. As with anything Magento related, reach out to us with any questions or concerns you have for optimizing your Holiday readiness!
