AcmeTools.com Uses IBM Smarter Commerce to Provide an Exceptional Mobile Shopping Experience
New Mobile Site Delivers Seamless Experience Across All Digital Channels
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – April 21, 2014 – Acme Tools, a leading authorized online retailer of tools and equipment, today announced the launch of its new mobile version of AcmeTools.com for online customers using smartphones. Developed by BlueSky Technology Partners, the new mobile platform leverages Acme Tools’ ongoing investment in IBM WebSphere Commerce to deliver a seamless online shopping experience regardless of how customers choose to browse and buy.
Based on a recent IBM study, mobile traffic and sales have continued to soar as a component of overall online sales. In the fourth quarter of 2013, mobile traffic accounted for nearly 35 percent of all online traffic, up 40 percent year-over-year. In addition, mobile sales neared 17 percent of all online sales, an increase of 46 percent over the same period in 2012.
The new Acme Tools mobile site is designed to reduce load time and enhance the user’s experience making it easier to browse, search and purchase using a smartphone. Registered users can utilize cross-platform features that include saved wish lists, saved checkout and the convenience of completing a purchase on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. The new mobile site AcmeTools.com Uses IBM Smarter Commerce, also offers click-to-call and store locator functions and excellent readability on smartphones.
